Last day of preschool for Gracie

Gracie and her teachers!  We couldn't get her to keep that tongue in her mouth.

Today was Gracie's last day of preschool till the fall.  I am so grateful that she had the opportunity to attend the school district's preschool.  It has been so wonderful for her and she has throughly enjoyed every minute.  On the days that she needed to stay home tears would just flow from her eyes as she cried because she wasn't going to be able to play with her friends and have fun.

Gracie has made great strides in school and both her teacher and I are optimistic that she will continue to learn and progress so that she can be in as typical of a setting as is possible for her when she enters kindergarten in 2 years.

We were able to go to school with Gracie today and watch a movie from the school year.  It was so cute to watch Gracie, watch the movie.  She would get so excited as she recognized her friends and would shout out who they were with such glee.  Talking with her teachers and other parents, it seems that Gracie is a social butterfly and all of the children love her.

Though I am excited to have Gracie home for the summer, I know she will be anxious to return back to her teacher and classmates in the fall.

Gracie's teacher told me that all of the children would help carry her oxygen and help her around the classroom--they got it in picture!

Morgan's Preschool Graduation

It is so hard to believe that Morgan will be entering kindergarden in the fall!  It seems like just yesterday she started walking.
I just can't believe how fast she is growing up and becoming more of a little girl and less like a toddler.  Some days I just want my little one back, but I know she needs to grow and learn and become her own person.  Morgan has taught me so much about being loved and loving others.  She is such a happy girl and too smart for her own good!
Today Morgan had her preschool graduation.  I had high hopes of being able to record it and take some wonderful pictures of her singing and enjoying sharing all the things she learned.  However, that just didn't happen.  Gracie cried the entire duration of the program wanting to be next to Morgan.  Ryan was trying to escape and get to Morgan and whenever I grabbed him, he would just scream.  I started crying when those around me started whispering that they couldn't believe I wasn't taking 'those kids' out.

My entire goal in life is to help all of my children know how much I love them and how important they are.  Morgan is such a special girl!  She has a depth of understanding for things that other 5 year olds can't grasp.  Morgan has sacrificed a lot having to be a big sister to Gracie and I try my best to compensate for that.  Today was Morgan's day and I didn't want to leave her there preforming alone just because Grace was throwing a fit.
Needless to say I didn't get many pictures, but I was there cheering my girl on and flashing her smiles and thumbs up whenever she needed or wanted them!

I love you Morgan and am so excited to see you continue to learn and progress in your schooling and hope that I can always be there to cheer you on!

Morgan's 1st book

As part of the kids' gift to their grandmother, they decided to write a story for her.  Ryan's and Gracie's contribution was quite limited, so it really ended up being Morgan's story.  I wrote it out and Morgan illustrated it.

Since it is going to grandma, I wanted to document it here so that I can have it too.  So glad I figured out how to work my scanner--it only took 3 years to try it.

Enjoy!!

this is my favorite picture.  she drew herself sleeping, but looks like she was hit by a truck.
