small update

For those of you who are wondering, Gracie is doing well. Though she is still intubated, she is making progress and we will probably try to extibate this week, I think it depends on her x-rays and what they look like after having a couple of spontaneous trials off the vent. I'm grateful that this time around we have a less aggressive Attending on duty, she knows Gracie well enough that she is hesitant to push her too fast.

I'd write more, but I really am having a hard time collecting my emotions and thoughts. Thank you for checking up on my sweet babe.

Hi Deanna! I used to work with Mike at AF hospital and I've experienced the PICU at PCH first hand when my 4 week old had a spontaneous pulmonary hemmorhage. I can't help but check up on Gracie every chance I get and I'm so THRILLED that she is moving in the right direction.
I know how hard it is from one day to the next to want so desperately for your baby to be extubated, doing well and at the same time, be TERRIFIED that they aren't ready. It's amazing how those machines start to become a part of you and that, even though you desperately want to hold your little one, you just don't want anything to happen too quickly. I'm glad you have a good feel for the Doc's and that you have an attending who knows Gracie. We will continue to pray for your liitle family! :o)

Hi Dee,
I am glad that things are still progressing. I am grateful that the attending is sensitive to both Gracie and your guys' needs. Hang in there and know that it is all in the Lord's hands. I love you!

Thanks for the little update. I am glad to hear that Grace is doing well and that you have a good Attending that will take things at Gracie pace. I was up there yesterday and was going to call but I decided I better not since we've had a bug going around our house that I didn't want to share with you. As always I continue to pray for Grace and your family.
