Change

One of a the key phrases with heart kids is that they can change so fast, I have felt that has always meant that they could crash so fast so we always need to be on our toes with our little Gracie---but it can be something positive! Gracie has improved remarkably fast from Monday and continues to do well.

The nitric gas was turned off yesterday and she is tolerating that well. Today they have started to slowly wean the vent settings and she is doing ok, she is still a ways from being extibated especially since she is still letting the vent breath for her completely when she is asleep, but she is progressing.

Thank you all for your prayers, fasting, and thoughts in our behalf and especially for our sweet Gracie. I know that prayers are answered and that Heavenly Father is continuing to bless us with our sweet girl and many miracles that keep her here with us.

Oh that is so great! We will take some good news anytime! These babies get sick fast, but they also can get well fast. I don't blame you for always being on guard! We are thinking of you always! Love, Stacy and family

I've just read a lot of your blog and this might sound strange but it feels really familiar. About the same time as your Grace had her surgery my husband had a heart transplant after living 37 years with a congenital heart defect. I'm sure it's very different when it's your child but so many of the difficulties with bleeding, nitric oxide, sats, chest tubes etc. have been similar to my husband's experience since Jan.29. Today my husband was finally moved out of the ICU. It feels so slow and long but I do see the progress. I hope Grace continues to progress. I will pray for your family and those who make decisions on Grace's behalf. Keep strong!!
